Windows XP
Short for Windows "eXPerience" XP was released on August 24, 2001. Windows XP featured a new task-based graphical user interface and several theme options which, to many, was a great improvement relative to other operating systems in that day. XP had quite a few new features such as start menu and task-based improvements, and faster: startup, log - on and log off. Hardware improvements such USB 2.0 and Firewire 800 were also added to this band of computers. The main addition to Windows XP were Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP professional, designed for businesses and powerhouses.
