The iMac
The iMac is the largest stand-alone Mac, yet it is one of the smallest desktops in the history of desktops. It is packed with the most intense hardware and software with barely any width in its bodily composition! It is simply astounding how small this thing gets. 30.5 pounds (13.8 kg) or less of computerized goodness is pulsing through the microchips in this device. The processor, as in all Macs, starts at an i5 and goes up to an i7. In this device though, something new comes up in the processor: upgraded GHz. It starts at an excellent 2.5 and reaches a mind-blowing 3.4. The RAM starts at 4 GB, and can be configured to 8 and even 16 GB. Storage is also excellent, starting at 500 GB and reaching 1 TB (1,000 GB). It can also be configured to 2 TB. Like most Macs it comes with a solid Face Time camera built right in. The iMac can be purchased in two sizes: 21.5" and 27".
The basic user, the traveler, the powerhouse, and the gamer (see "Choosing a Computer") will all view the iMac in a different way. Seeing as this starts at $1199 and reaches $1999, the basic user can definitely get away with something cheaper. This wouldn't a worthwhile purchase for the traveler either, unless that person wants to lug around 30 pounds of weight with a mouse and keyboard. The powerhouse, though, will love this, especially one who wants an exceptionally larger screen than other Macs. Again, we warn the elite gamer about the Macintosh race, for they possess the terrible AMD Radeon graphics card. In general, the iMac is a powerful, intuitive tool that is great for any computer based task.
